There are ample entertainment options out there for your wedding. You and your partner’s taste along with the style of your wedding will have a big effect on what type of entertainment is suited for you. Here at Marry Me Ireland, we have compiled a list of some of the more common possibilities along with those that you may not have thought of yourself. Feel free to mix and match; your wedding day is long so choosing a variety of options is more than okay.
1. Wedding Bands
This is the most traditional option on the list. Wedding bands are very good at getting the crowd up and involved but they may be more expensive than some of the other options so it is important to take your budget into account. If you are set on having live music but aren’t sure you can afford it, take a look at up and coming bands rather than established ones, they will cost considerably less and can be just as good.
If you want an extravagant, over the top wedding, music may not be enough for you. Look into getting dancers to perform at the reception. Choose a style of dance to suit the tone of your day. This will help your wedding stand out from the rest.
Djs are becoming more and more popular. They are modern and can play a range of genres of music to suit your whole wedding party. Make sure your DJ comes with their own equipment if it is not provided by your location. As they are a one man show they can cost considerably less than a live band.
4. Flash Mobs
Keep this one a surprise for your wedding guests and make sure those involved don’t blab before the fact. A recent wedding with Marry Me Ireland saw a flash mob during the ceremony. Different members of the wedding came dancing up the aisle to take their seats, followed by the wedding party and lastly, the bride. The majority of the wedding guests were not in the loop and it made for great entertainment.
5. Surprise Dance from the Bride or Groom
Something that is gaining a lot of popularity lately are surprise dances. These usually involve a mix of the bride, the groom, and their wedding party. Choose well known dances to mimic (like dirty dancing, or literally anything Beyonce), or if you are so inclined choreograph your own. If it is solely the groom, or solely the bride, why not keep your other half out of the loop and dedicate it to them. If it is both of you make sure not to spill it to your guests. Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright learning off the dirty dancing moves (including the lift) rings a bell when thinking of celebrities who have done this.
This is a popular form of entertainment for the wedding ceremony. Harpists, pianists and guitarists are only some of the choices couples tend to go with. This is a nice touch to accompany the walk up the aisle; it is a very romantic option.
Here at Marry Me Ireland we have a wide variety of exceptional celebrants who can deliver the wedding ceremony of your dreams – traditional, unique or otherwise. So get in touch today and we can start planning your special day!
