While ideally your wedding will go off without any hiccups, this may not always be the case so it is important to prepare with a wedding day emergency kit. While every bride is different there are a few items no bride should be without. Get your maid of honour to stash a duffle bag with all the essentials, in an easily reached place at the wedding reception. If you are in a few minds about what to bring we have compiled a list of some of the must haves along with some other things you may not think of on your own.
For your Hair:
If you don’t have a hairstylist on handy (and face it how many of us do?) it’s inevitable that your hair wont be as perfect at the end of the night as it was walking up the aisle. In order to minimise the damage pop the items you deem most important into your kit.
- Bobby pins
- Hair bobbins
- Dry shampoo
For your Dress:
This can come in handy not only for the brides dress but also for bridesmaids, the flower girl and the groom’s and groomsmen’s tuxes.
- Needle and thread
- White Chalk (masks stains on a white dress)
- Toupee tape
- Clear nail polish (stops ladders in tights)
First Aid Kit:
While it’s not going to fix a major accident, a mini first aid kit is always handy to have for minor mishaps like feet blisters and headaches.
- Pain Killers
- Energy Drink
These will cover you from garlic breath (eek!) to running eye make-up.
- Breath mints
- Extra earring backs
- Make-up bag
While it seems like an awful lot, most of these items are small and can be found around the house. You most likely wont use a lot of them but you don’t want to be wishing on the day for the one or two things you didn’t pack into your emergency kit. Better safe than sorry!
