Today’s Love Story couple Roisin and Linda made the most effervescent, blushing brides. They both walked up the aisle one by one and there was literally a gasp from the guests at how incredible they looked, as they just oozed femininity and elegance. There were a few tears of joy before they settled down to hear Marry Me Ireland Celebrant Christine tell the room their poignant love story and guide them through their candle and handfasting ceremony. Both their mums were on hand and came and lit the outer candles, representing the life given to them by their parents. The couple then lit the Unity Candle in the centre, symbolising the uniting of their two individual lives.
Bride Linda remembers the day, “From the get go, Roisin & I wanted our ceremony to be different to any we had been to before. We wanted it to be about us, personal stories about us that we could share with everyone and that’s exactly what we got. Marry me Ireland were amazing. We worked together on every single draft until we were happy. They were so supportive to our needs and gave us great ideas for ceremony ideas. We wrote our own vows which were lovely and we decided on the handfasting at the end which we absolutely loved. It was just so personal. We knew as soon as we met Christine that she was the lady to perform our ceremony. We felt like we knew her years! To this day, people still tell us how amazing and lovely our ceremony was. Most people say it was the most emotional ceremony they have ever been to and for that we are so thankful to you guys for helping us out. I would highly recommend you to anyone getting married.”
The big day was made memorable by many fantastic suppliers. Linda and Roisín highly recommend the team at Ballymagarvey House who ran the event seamlessly. Their photographer was Phil Voon from Give us a Goo Photography. Celine’s florist provided a bounty of floral colour and scent. We asked Linda if she had any advice for anyone planning their wedding and this is what she said, “Don’t get too frustrated if you cannot find the perfect dress, it will happen, just stay patient and make sure you are happy with every detail on it. Go back for as many fittings as you want, after all, you are paying the cost. Go with your gut feeling, it always worked for Roisin & I. Our top tip was to stick together with the decisions you both have made, don’t let anyone else influence your decision, it’s your big day.”
Thank you so much to our couple today for sharing their ceremony story with us and thanks to Give Us A Goo for their images. We wish you both the best of luck in the future.
