Lindsey wanted to surprise her partner Christian on their twelfth anniversary. After many years talking about how the two of them would love to come to Ireland, Lindsey discovered that Rod Stewart was playing in Dublin on the exact night of her Mom’s birthday in November. Rod Stewart was her mom’s favourite artist and she never missed a live show. She had passed away suddenly last year in a car accident and was so terribly missed. Before Lindsey even asked Chris, she had the flights and tickets booked and was going to have to break the news to him. He was delighted at how happy it made her, celebrating their anniversary in Ireland and seeing Rod on her late’ mom’s Birthday. What Chris didn’t know was that this was also going to be the day of their surprise vow renewal. Together with Marry Me Ireland, she began to plan the ceremony, they found her the perfect venue and wrote a ceremony based around their love story and this once in a lifetime trip to Ireland.
Marry Me Celebrant June Tutty did an excellent job of delivering their tailor-made ceremony, she even read out some Rod Stewart lyrics and did a ring blessing and vow exchange. The ceremony took place, overlooking the famous Ha’penny Bridge on The River Liffey right in the heart of Dublin’s bustling city centre. The staff at the Woollen Mills were very attentive and organised a secluded little area in an upstairs private room for the happy couple. It was intimate, romantic and very poignant as their sacred bond was once again celebrated and invoked.
Lindsey describes the occasion:
“I have been wanting to email you guys to tell you how perfectly beautiful everything was!! Your company did such an amazing job making our trip special. The ceremony was beautiful and we were both emotional during our renewal ceremony. It was an emotional day for us because it was my mom’s birthday and renewing our vows on that day really meant a lot to us. We loved every second and will remember it always.
Thank you again for everything. We had the best time in Ireland and you were a part of it!”
Thanks so much Lindsay and Christian for sharing their moment with us. Thanks also goes to celebrant June Tutty and to Dave Sweeney for the images.
