Wes & Emily’s Rose Garden Wedding, Kilkenny Castle

Today’s Love Story is from Wes and Emily…..Hailing from the USA, they chose Ireland as their wedding destination. For them, Ireland invoked a sense of romance and history and so they journeyed, with their two witnesses, to tie the knot.  They chose the auspicious Celtic Festival date of May 1st to celebrate their marriage, their venue, the breathtaking Kilkenny Castle.

After days of pouring rain, the sun finally broke on the morning of Wes and Emily’s special day. Wes and his best Man Billy arrived looking extremely dapper by foot with stunning bride Emily and her Sister Leanne literally stopping traffic arriving shortly afterwards by car.

They had arranged their wedding day in the middle of a trip over from the US, stopping off in various locations including Galway, Cork and Dublin and most importantly Kilkenny where Marry Me Ireland celebrant Jenny  delivered a beautiful intimate ceremony in front of the water fountain overlooking the stunning backdrop of Kilkenny Castle.

Locals and tourists alike were delighted to witness the intimate spectacle as everyone took their places in the stunning rose gardens.

An Irish Blessing:

May you never steal, lie or cheat.

But if you must steal,

Then steal away my sorrows.

If you must lie,

then lie with me all the nights of my life.

And if you must cheat,

then please cheat death, because

I could never live a day without you.

Wes read this Irish Blessing and the couple wrote and read out their own personalised vows with Jenny completing the ceremony with a Celtic handfasting. Cheered on by Leanne, Billy and the growing crowd, our couple were then declared married, sealing their day with a kiss in what was a truly stunning memory for all.

Emily told us afterwards- Jenny went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The ceremony was genuine and heartfelt, I could tell that she was speaking from the heart. You really made our special day amazing. I’ll never forget that and you now hold a very special place in our hearts. Thanks again.

Many thanks to Photographer Gary Kavanagh who was on hand to take these stunning  pictures on the day. All the team at Marry Me Ireland wish Emily and Wes the very best for the future together- we hope your Irish wedding was everything you dreamed of and more.
