Having a last minute wedding can be really romantic, whether you just can’t wait any longer to get married or you’ve found the perfect venue that has a last minute availability. We are all for them at Marry Me Ireland and we’ve have had plenty of couples looking for a celebrant at a moments notice. Planning a wedding with no time to spare can be a bit of a whirlwind, but incredibly exciting. Follow these top tips to keep the wedding stress to a minimum.
1. Keep it Small
Small weddings are by no means any less special. They can be a lot easier to plan and can turn out a lot more romantic. The only people that will be there to hear you say ‘I Do’ are those that mean the most to you. Smaller weddings can also be a lot cheaper, so you will have more money to begin your lives together.
If you are a perfectionist and used to do everything yourself, you may not be comfortable delegating tasks. However, if your wedding is right around the corner this may be necessary. Your family and friends should be more than happy to help and it should really take the pressure off.
3. Lists, Lists, and More Lists
Organisation is key when planning a last minute wedding. It’s important that you are well aware of what has been done, and what else needs to be. Make seperate lists of all the vendors you need, who you want at the wedding, what you need to buy, who you need to pay, and what else needs to be decided on and organised. Trust us, it will really help to see everything in writing.
4. Buy off the Rack
You probably won’t have time to get custom outfits if you are having a last minute wedding, so you will have to buy off the rack. Your bride’s and/or groom’s outfits will still have to be fitted though so get to the clothes shop as soon as possible. The same goes for bridesmaid’s and groomsmen outfits.
Here at Marry Me Ireland we have a wide variety of exceptional celebrants who can deliver the wedding ceremony of your dreams – traditional, unique or otherwise. So get in touch today and we can start planning your special day!
