I came to celebrancy by accident, following the birth of my first son in 2012 – My husband and I wanted to celebrate his arrival and our joy to meet him, so we had a lovely intimate celebration in the bandstand in the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin on a cold Sunday morning. In 2015, we went again – gathering family and friends in the Circle of Life Garden of Remembrance and Thanksgiving in Salthill, Galway to welcome our younger son – with my sister joining us on Skype, from Australia, for a reading!
When we got married in 2016, again we felt a personal celebration of our lives, our children, our family and friends was the way to go – and we found Marry Me Ireland! We had a beautiful ceremony, with unity candles and a handfasting, with our two boys carrying up the ribbons – and the two year old refusing to hand his over. Never work with animals or children! 🙂 We walked out of our wedding with our hands still bound, as husband and wife – and a new career was born for me!
In my day to day working life, I am a facilitator, communicator, project manager and educator. I love working with people on projects – conceptualising, planning, and realising them successfully. And it’s these professional skills that I bring to celebrancy – the ability to collaborate and work together to create a bespoke, personal ceremony that reflects you and your partner, and celebrates your love, or baby, in a way that is meaningful for you. All this combined with the very important ability to turn up in the right place, at the right time, with the right tools for the job – a clear voice and accent that is easily understood, and a smile on my face.
So if you’re looking to elope on the Wild Atlantic Way, to declare your love on Shop Street in Galway, or to bare your soul at a festival in Clare, get in touch – I’m looking forward to hearing your story!
Mary Kate became a celebrant because she loves the feeling of happiness and the positive energy that surrounds weddings and other celebrations. Everyone is gathered together to provide support and good wishes, there are smiles and hugs all round, and for a day (or sometimes two!) people leave their worries aside while they celebrate a special occasion.
As a celebrant Mary Kate wants to help capture the mood of joy and to make the event as memorable and special as possible. A warm and friendly people person, she works with the couple to find out what they truly want from their celebration. She can cater for lots of tastes and preferences while providing the framework to ensure the ceremony is given the respect it deserves.
Happily married for many years & still holding hands, Tricia is a true romantic. Swimming in the ocean daily, she loves the wind in her face and the splash of the waves. She is a great listener and loves to craft a good story. As a former restaurateur, Tricia has been privileged to be part of many celebrations – engagements, birthdays & anniversaries and understands what it takes to make a memorable moment; the power of words, the small detail, the right ambience- all the elements that set the scene for the magic to seamlessly unfold. She is passionate about delivering a polished and vibrant ceremony.
Mo hails from the North West and was inspired to become a celebrant to offer an alternative ceremony full of passion and meaning. She is a spiritual soul with a free spirit taking a lot of inspiration from nature.

She is warm, empathetic and has a great sense of humour and is gifted at putting people at their ease. “What a privilege it is to offer a couple an individually crafted celebration of their love , wherever and whenever they want it to be.”
Aideen is a calm, creative celebrant. A vocational person for whom “sharing the love” is intrinsic to her own enjoyment of life. Putting your story and preferences at the heart of each ceremony, she delivers a wonderful, warm experience for you, your family and friends. You can completely relax and enjoy your day with Aideen at the helm.
Wedding celebrancy found David when he was originally asked to perform a ceremony for some good friends back in 2011. It was a truly wonderful occasion and for me a great insight into how different traditions could be honoured and how such a ceremony offered such a high degree of flexibility and individual personality. Since then he has celebrated weddings, commitment ceremonies, unity ceremonies .. all with a truly different theme based on the couple’s stories.
