If you’ve been to a few weddings, you’ll know that there’s not much of a difference between them all. The couple usually gets married in a church and then goes back to a hotel for the reception. If you are looking for alternative wedding ideas to make your wedding more personal, you’ve come to the right place.
At Home Wedding
If you’ve got a lot of space at home, or someone your close to does, why not have an at home wedding? It can save you a lot of money on a location and it can be just as fun. Even better, if you’ve a big garden, why not rent a marquee for outside?
Banning your guests from using their mobiles at your wedding is a great way to get everyone feeling present. It will make your wedding a much more sociable affair and ultimately your guests will thank you for it. However, at the end of the day you want your guests to be as stress free as possible, so don’t be too strict – parents may need to check on their kids or someone may need it in case of an emergency. Ask them politely at the beginning to try not use it if they can or put up some cool signs to let them no you are having an unplugged wedding.
Use a Celebrant
Having a celebrant perform your wedding ceremony, is one of my favourite alternative wedding ideas. It’s a really personal way to say ‘I do’. Nothing is set in stone so you’ve complete freedom to tell your story as a couple. It can as religious or as non-religious as you want, so you won’t feel pressured into having anything said that you’re not comfortable with.
If you don’t want a big fuss and all you want is you and your significant other at your wedding, why not elope? There’s something really romantic about deciding on a whim to forget the mayhem and do it your own way.
Here at Marry Me Ireland we have a wide variety of exceptional celebrants who can deliver the wedding ceremony of your dreams – traditional, unique or otherwise. So get in touch today and we can start planning your special day!
