Wedding planning can be both fun and exciting. However, it is important to not get too caught up in it all or that excitement will turn into stress. It’s easy to forget about the less conventional things and focus all your attention on what flowers to get, or what venue to have. So here at Marry Me Ireland, we have compiled a list of all the wedding advice married couples would take on board if they were to do it all again.
Take a Walk Together
Your wedding day is most likely going to be super manic and busy. While it’s important to make sure your guests are having fun and being well looked after, it’s more important that you and your significant other are celebrating each other. That is what your wedding is all about after all. Take a walk together after the ceremony or after dinner, and really reflect on the day.
Take Time to Eat
It will be a really long day, and it’ll be easy to forget (or not have time to) eat. To avoid this have some food ready after the ceremony to munch on. It may be a long time until dinner. As well, a lot of brides skip the wedding dinner altogether. You are paying for it so you should definitely be able to enjoy it too.
Put your Foot Down
There’s bound to be interfering family members or friends who know ‘the perfect way to do this and that’. That’s all well and good, and wedding advice should definitely be appreciated. However, this is your day so if you want something, or don’t want something, don’t be afraid to put your foot down.
Ask for Help
The other side of that is to take too much on alone. Friends and family usually wont mind helping and giving you wedding advice, most will even enjoy it. This should be the case for both planning the wedding and the day of. That’s what your bridesmaids and groomsmen are there for after all!
Here at Marry Me Ireland we have a wide variety of exceptional celebrants who can deliver the wedding ceremony of your dreams- traditional, unique or otherwise. So get in touch today and we can start planning your special day!
